Oscar Fashions Leave Stars Too Nude

Oscar night is a time where stars not only get recognized for their amazing talent and work over the last year, but is also a time where they get to shine in designer couture at its best. Although I found many gowns to be quite beautiful and flattering in their sleeveless silhouettes, I am wondering why the choice for bare minimal accessories leaving stars necks way to nude for my taste. I understand the choices that stars have made over the last few years since 9/11 in pairing down the extravagance, and the concern over blood diamonds, however there are so many choices out there that would soften and compliment the look of these elegant gowns without going overboard on glittering million dollar diamonds. The overall decision to cut out these fantastic adornments all together seems a bit too Marie Antoinette to me. How about a simple yet elegant semi-precious collar to bring the attention back up to the star's face? Something with hand crafted workmanship and artistic design over a million dollar gem? Just a thought that I've had for some time and I'm wondering how many of you agree?
